How the facts here are checked

Every page is dated

Each route, city and guide shows the month it was last checked. If that date looks old for something that moves quickly, treat the page as a starting point and confirm the detail at the source linked on it.

Where the facts come from

• Rail fares and times. Checked against China Railway's published fares (12306) and specialist rail references, and quoted as a second-class “from” price and a range, because they vary by train.
• Visa and entry rules. Taken from China's National Immigration Administration. This is the area that changes most, so it is tracked, and any change is re-verified against that official source before a page is updated. Where a detail really matters, the page links the source and tells you to confirm it there.
• Costs. Given as rough per-person ranges for budgeting, not quotes, and sampled from current listings rather than pulled from memory.
• Judgement — which sights are worth your time, which areas to stay in, what to skip — comes from first-hand travel.

Visited vs. checked

A city page written from a real visit says so and carries a “visited” mark. A page that only sets out the facts and logistics for a place — without a personal visit behind it — is labelled plainly and keeps the opinions out.

What this site does not do

• No sponsored placements, paid rankings or paid mentions. See the disclosure page for how it is funded.
• No made-up facts. Prices, times and rules are checked against a real source, never generated.
• No manufactured urgency — no page is built around a single scary headline that will read as dated in a year.
